NBA LAGOS CHAIRMAN: FAVOUR NJOKU ENDORSES UCHENNA OGUNEDO AKINGBADE FOR CONTINUITY, IMPACT

In every election cycle, we are presented with a choice, not merely between individuals, but between values, direction, and the very essence of leadership. This moment calls us to look beyond rhetoric and assess character, track record, and vision. And in Uchenna, we find a candidate who embodies all these and more. She understands the past, is grounded in the present, and is prepared to shape a future we can all be proud of.

Uche is not a stranger to service; she has served diligently with grace and grit across various committees within the branch and beyond, consistently bringing depth, empathy and strategic thinking to the table. Her reputation precedes her: dependable, grounded, available, constructive, collaborative, and results-oriented. Today, she serves as the Liaison Officer for the In-House and Government Counsel Forum.

I vividly recall the initial reservations many of us had when she was first appointed; she was not from the in-house fold, and we wondered whether she would truly understand our needs. But Uche didn’t flinch. She stepped up, engaged us sincerely, listened actively, and earned our trust. She didn’t just meet our expectations; she exceeded them. She built bridges where walls had formed. That’s not ordinary leadership, that’s emotional intelligence in action. That’s what it means to lead with heart and competence: the ability to win people over by showing up, doing the work, and delivering results.

Yesterday, at the NBA Lagos Branch Manifesto Day, Uche didn’t just speak; she didn’t simply recite promises; she cast a vision, and she inspired. Her delivery was clear, confident, and deeply connected to the realities of our Branch. She showed us she isn’t guessing her way through this; she understands the system, its strengths and its cracks, and more importantly, how to mend and elevate it.

She understands that the future of our Branch isn’t something to be improvised; it must be built on continuity, excellence, institutional memory, innovation, and collaborative leadership. She knows that good governance isn’t about position, it’s about impact.

Uche is thoughtful, accessible, and unshaken by the politics of noise. She brings people together, her interpersonal skills are unmatched, she gets the work done, and lets the results speak. She doesn’t chase attention; she earns respect. And in times like these, we need a Chairperson who brings calm to the chaos and structure to the conversation.

This election isn’t just about what we want in a Chairman, it’s about who we want NBA Lagos to become. Do we want a branch that is inclusive, dynamic, forward-thinking, and truly representative of its members? Then we must vote for a leader who embodies those ideals.

That leader is Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade.

She is not campaigning for applause; she’s answering a call to serve. And we, as a branch, must answer with a resounding yes.

So as we approach this critical moment for the Lagos Branch, I urge us all to choose competence, clarity and character. Choose someone who has walked the talk and is ready to scale greater heights with us.

Let’s vote UCHENNA OGUNEDO AKINGBADE for NBA Lagos Chairman.
Let’s choose leadership that listens, leadership that works, leadership that delivers. Let’s elect someone who’s already shown us what excellence looks like.

Warm regards,
Favour Njoku
