SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION OF THE CLASS OF 1985 AT LAGOS ORIENTAL HOTEL 16 DECEMBER 2025

To the glory of God Almighty, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, the much anticipated grand finale of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of our Call to the Nigerian Bar is now history.

16th December 2025 has finally come and gone! From comments so far received from Class members and other guests who attended the ceremony, the event was largely a huge success.

We thank profusely our Special Guests who endeavored to grace the occasion, particularly the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice MKO Kekere-Ekun, GCON and her dear spouse, Mr. Akin Kekere-Ekun, OFR; the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, CON; Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, CON; various Chief Judges present and our fellow call mates who trooped out in their hundreds.

We thank the Keynote Speaker at the event, Prof. Fidelis Oditah, KC, SAN who electrified the audience with his thought provoking lecture which touched among other issues, the negative effect of too much adherence to technicality in our judicial process.

The occasion was used to unveil the 2nd phase of the ultra modern medical center project being sponsored by the Class at the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School . The project is expected to gulp over N800M.

Awards of excellence were also presented to some members of the Class who have distinguished themselves in various fields of human endeavor and to the DG of the Nigerian Law School, Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma, SAN for his landmark achievements at the School.

Finally, Class members had fun with good food and drinks, good music and reconnection with old acquaintances. We danced our hearts out!

We thank the Local Organizing Committee of the anniversary jointly headed by Folashade Alli, SAN, Seyi Akinwunmi and Mrs. Bola Adesola for putting up an event that had been adjudged as one of our best.
