Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Mr. Afam Osigwe SAN; Chairman of the 2025 NBA Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP) Annual Conference Planning Committee, Chief Paul Harris Ogbole SAN, and Mr. M. A. Attah SAN are among many jurists and Bar Leaders billed to descend on Yola, the Adamawa State capital, for this year’s Gabriel Adikwu Annual Lecture. Osigwe is also the as Special Guest of Honour at the eagerly awaited event.
Accredited by the Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA- ICLE), the Annual Lecture will hold in Yola, Adamawa State on May 16, 2026.
The Gabriel Adikwu Annual Lecture, reputed as the largest single gathering of Lawyers in North East Nigeria, will this year honour a retired Justice of Nigeria’s Court of Appeal, Justice Ali Andeyangtso.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State capital is wearing a new look as it prepares to host the increasingly popular Annual Lecture.
Also, Chief Godwin Odumu Obla SAN has been designated to deliver the Keynote Address at the eagerly awaited event. Another Keynote Address will also be delivered by Mr. Abdul Muhammed SAN, currently Chairman of the NBA Annual General Conference Planning Committee,.
The convener and Bar Leader, Mr Gabriel Adikwu, told CITY LAWYER at the weekend that many jurists and senior lawyers have confirmed their attendance at this year’s event. Adikwu is also the Principal Attorney at the law office of Gabriel Adikwu & Co.
This year’s Annual Lecture has Justice Dr. Frederick Oho, Presiding Judge of Court of Appeal, Yola Division, as Chairman of the Occasion.
While the Chief Judge of Adamawa State High Court, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman is the Chief Host for the Annual Lecture, Adamawa State Attorney-General & Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Afraimu Jingi is the Special Guest of Honour.
Retired Chief Judge of the Adamawa State High Court, Justice Nathan Musa has been designated as the Royal Father of the Day.
This year’s Annual Lecture will hold by 9 am at the Chief Judge’s Ceremonial Court Hall, High Court Justice Complex, Jimeta, Yola.
The theme for the Annual Lecture, which is fast becoming a permanent feature in the calendar of Nigerian lawyers, is “Promoting Citizens Rights and Leadership Accountability: The Role of Lawyers.”
This year’s Annual Lecture promises to be intellectually engaging, considering the array of eminent jurists who have accepted to be a part of the faculty.
The Annual Lecture will also provide a platform for networking among lawyers as delegates interact with other stakeholders in the legal profession who are making great strides in their space.
Adikwu called on all lawyers to make plans to attend, adding that “This is one event you can’t afford to miss!”
