PRAWA CELEBRATES NIGERIA’S TRIUMPH AT THE IRCT GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2026: DR. UJU AGOMOH ELECTED INTO THE IRCT COUNCIL FOR 2026–2029

The Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) proudly celebrates a historic milestone for Nigeria following the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) General Assembly and Council Elections for the 2026–2029 term.

In recognition of her decades-long dedication to penal reform and human rights, Dr. Uju Agomoh, President of PRAWA, has been elected to the highly esteemed IRCT Council for 2026–2029.

“Dr. Uju Agomoh’s election is a monumental win for Nigeria and the African human rights community,” PRAWA’s management stated. “It reflects global recognition of our local expertise in reforming custodial spaces and defending human dignity.”
