MENTORSHIP, CAREER DEVT TOP AGENDA AT NBA PORT HARCOURT LAW WEEK
The 5-day Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Port Harcourt Branch witnessed two days that were devoted to mentorship of young lawyers and law students.
The Continuing Legal Education (CLE) session focused on law practice development, with leading lights in top law firms sharing their success stories and law firm management tips.
Among the resource persons were Mrs. Miannaya Aja Essien SAN of Principles Law Partnership and Mr. Tonye Krukrubo SAN of Aluko & Oyebode/ALN. Also on the panel were the record-breaking youngest senior advocates, namely Messrs Oyetola Atoyebi SAN and Michael Numa SAN.
Others panelists included former law teacher, Chief O. T. K. D Amachree and Mrs. Oyinkan Badejo-Okusanya, while the session was ably moderated by Mr. Esosa Omo-Usoh of Solola & Akpana Solicitors.
Inspiring stories were shared by foremost business law practitioner, Mr. George Etomi; HRH David Serena Dokubo-Spiff, Founding Partner at Serenity Legal Union, as well as former Attorneys-General Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam and Worgu Boms. Hon Justice Bright Deemua of the Customary Court of Appeal gave a judicial perspective to the discourse.
Mr. Henry Chibor, a Partner in Solola and Akpana who also doubles as the Chairman of the Continuing Legal Education Committee, thanked the participants for their active engagement of the speakers while assuring them that the sessions would attract CLE points since the branch had been accredited for the purpose.
The branch Law Week ended with an exquisite dinner, with Hon. Justice Magaret Opara giving a scintillating dinner talk.
