The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has displayed two petitions challenging the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke at the August 15, 2026 poll.

The petitions were pasted on the tribunal’s notice board at the State High Court, Oke Fia, Osogbo on Monday, September 7, 2026, in line with electoral procedures.

Tribunal Secretary, Pefe Belemore, had earlier said the necessary notices would be displayed before noon on Monday.

Officials of the secretariat were present in the courtroom as preparations for commencement of proceedings continued.

According to the documents displayed, the All Progressives Congress petition is marked EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026. It was filed by the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

The respondents listed are Governor Adeleke, the Accord Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The second petition, marked: EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was filed by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. The respondents are Adeleke, INEC and Accord.

The display of petitions is a procedural step required by law. It is expected to pave the way for service of court processes on all parties involved before substantive hearing begins.

INEC had declared Adeleke, who contested on the platform of Accord, winner of the August 15 election with 511,067 votes, ahead of Oyebamiji of APC who polled 444,815 votes.

JUSTICE WATCH NEWS reports that Governor Adeleke remains in office pending the determination of the petitions by the tribunal.
