HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Ajibola-Oluyede, a leading transnational commercial attorney, women’s rights advocate and prominent figure in the global legal community, is set to take centre stage at the 2026 Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Oluyede, wife of the late HRM Oba Raphael Ajibola Oluyede, Alaiyeluwa Ise-Oluwa II, Alayede of Ayede-Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, will moderate a high-level session on diversity, inclusion and artificial intelligence at the conference.
The panelists in the high-profile session are Chief Emeka Ngige (CON, SAN), respected Bar Leader and Chairman of Nigeria’s Council of Legal Education (CLE); Steven Richman of Clark Hill PLC, USA; Amel Alalseeri of Zeenat Al Mansoori & Associates, Bahrain; Amir Singh Pasrich, Co-founder of ILAI, Delhi, India and Treasurer of the IBA, and Masako Banno of Sparkle Legal, Tokyo, Japan.
The session, titled “Diversity & Inclusion and Artificial Intelligence,” is scheduled for 11:15 am to 12:30 pm on Monday, October 5, at the Bella Center, Copenhagen.
It will bring together leading legal practitioners and experts from different jurisdictions to examine the growing intersection between diversity, inclusion and artificial intelligence and their implications for the legal profession.
The IBA conference, holding in Copenhagen from October 4 to 9, 2026, is one of the major international gatherings of the global legal profession, attracting lawyers and other professionals from across jurisdictions.
Oluyede is participating in the session in her capacity as a senior leader and adviser within the IBA Diversity & Inclusion Council, having previously served as Chair of the Council and now serving meritoriously on its Advisory Board.
Oluyede’s prominent role at the conference further highlights the growing international recognition of Nigerian legal professionals and provides a notable Ondo State presence at the global event.
Her participation is particularly significant at a time when the legal profession is confronting rapid technological transformation through artificial intelligence while simultaneously addressing questions of diversity, equity and inclusion.
With nearly four decades of elite legal practice, Oluyede has established an extensive record of leadership within the IBA and other international legal institutions.
In addition to her current position on the IBA Diversity & Inclusion Council Advisory Board, she serves as Advisor to the IBA Constitution & Governance Committee and Advisory Board Member of the IBA Women Lawyers Committee.
She was the first Nigerian Chair of the IBA African Regional Forum and previously served as Chair of the IBA Crimes Against Women Subcommittee, as well as a member of the IBA Nominations Committee and the IBA Legal Practice Division Council.
Beyond the IBA, Oluyede has played significant roles in strengthening international legal relations. She facilitated the historic 2019 Memorandum of Cooperation between the Nigerian Bar Association and the American Bar Association International Law Section.
Within the American Bar Association International Law Section, she has held senior leadership and advisory responsibilities across strategic areas including the United Nations and International Organisations, Human Rights, NGO and NPO matters, International Refugee Law, Government and Public Interest, and the Women’s Interest Network. She is also a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
At the national level, Oluyede is a Life Member of the Body of Benchers, the highest regulatory body of the legal profession in Nigeria. She is also a pioneer and founding partner of TRLPLAW Solicitors & Advocates, an international commercial law firm through which she brings more than 39 years of corporate and legal experience to her practice.
Her service to the Nigerian Bar includes her tenure as National Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association, Vice Chair of the NBA Lagos Branch and inaugural Secretary of the NBA Women Forum.
A passionate advocate for women’s rights, Oluyede also serves as North America Executive Director of FIDA International (International Federation of Women Lawyers) and previously served as its Regional Vice President for North America.
She is a prolific speaker at international conventions and has organised and participated in major global conferences, including programmes held at the United Nations in collaboration with international humanitarian networks.
Oluyede’s influence extends beyond the legal profession. She belongs to the Akenneyin Royal Dynasty of the Amapetu of Mahin Kingdom in Ondo State and was married for 43 years to the late Oba Raphael Ajibola Oluyede, a respected legal luminary and monarch of Ayede-Ogbese, with whom she shared children and grandchildren.
Her appearance at the Copenhagen conference therefore represents not only another milestone in a distinguished international legal career, but also a significant moment of visibility for Nigerian women in law and for Ondo State on the global legal stage.
