ECNBA RELEASES LIST OF CANDIDATES, CLEARS GADZAMA, MAIKYAU, OTHERS

The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has released the list of candidates for the forthcoming NBA National Elections.

As earlier reported by CITY LAWYER, all the three presidential aspirants were cleared by the electoral committee. These are Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN and Mr. Jonathan Taidi.

Aside from the presidential candidates, three candidates were cleared for the post of 1st Vice President while only three aspirants were also cleared for the post of 2nd Vice President.

Two aspirants will slug it out for the post of 3rd Vice President while four candidates will battle for the post of General Secretary.

Assistant General Secretary has four candidates while three candidates will battle for the Treasurer position. On the other hand, Welfare Secretary has five candidates while Publicity Secretary has only two candidates. The same number of candidates will battle for the post of Assistant Publicity Secretary.

The position of NBA representatives for the General Council of the Bar has 22 candidates to do battle.

It was unclear at press time how appeals by some disqualified aspirants may affect the final list.
