UPDATED: AGC to Gulp N750 Million
The 2018 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference (AGC) will cost the association a whopping N750 Million, CITY LAWYER can authoritatively report.
A source close to the Technical Committee on Conference Planning (TCCP) told CITY LAWYER that though the TCCP had proposed about N1.2 billion for the conference, the NBA leadership pruned the budget to N750 Million.
The source said that the money will be used to among others fund conference bags, NBA App, and flash drive which will contain the conference papers.
It is recalled that the 2017 AGC witnessed a steep increase in conference fees due to the provision of tablets to conferees. The TCCP had reportedly spent about N1.3 Billion on the conference. The conference fees have been retained for this year’s annual conference.
Aside from the pre-conference National Executive Committee meeting holding on Sunday, the conference will kick off the same day with an opening ceremony.
The theme for the conference is “Transition, Transformation and Sustainable Institutions.” The conference venue is the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
