The Supreme Court recently affirmed the judgment of an Adamawa State High Court as well as the Court of Appeal sentencing one Sunday Jackson to death for killing an attacker.
Jackson was reportedly cultivating his farm when a suspected herder, armed with a knife, attempted to attack him.
He was said to have overpowered his aggressor, resulting in the herder’s death.
The court in a majority decision held that Jackson had the opportunity to escape rather than stab his attacker.
