INDUSTRIAL COURT PRESIDENT JUSTICE KANYIP IS KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR GABRIEL ADIKWU ANNUAL LECTURE

The President of the National Industrial Court, Justice Benedict Kanyip has been named as the Keynote Speaker for the forthcoming 2025 Gabriel Adikwu Annual Lecture.

The Annual Lecture will hold on 17th May, 2025 at the Government House Banquet Hall, Dougirei, Yola, Adamawa State.

The Annual Lecture, accredited by the Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA- ICLE), is reputed as the largest single gathering of lawyers in North East Nigeria and FCT.

This year’s event, with the theme “THE LAW, THE COURT AND THE PEOPLE,” is designed to celebrate a distinguished jurist, Honourable Justice P. A. Galumje, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with the Distinguished Jurist Par Excellent Award.

Justice Galumje is reputed to have had an impactful stay on the bench and had immensely contributed in shaping the Nigerian legal jurisprudence. The jurist is noted to have spent his life raising and mentoring several Justices who are on the bench today and are making the Nigeria Bar Association and the nation proud.

The speakers include Honourable Justice Ita Mbaba JSC (Rtd), President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN as Special Guest of Honour, and Honourable Justice Nathan Musa rtd (Wakili Alkalai Adamawa) as Royal Father of the Day.

The event will be co-hosted by the Honourable Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, Chief Judge of Adamawa State High Court of Justice; Honourable A. K. Jingi, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adamawa State and Barr. Idi Ali, Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, Yola Branch.

This year’s event promises to be intellectually engaging, considering the array of eminent jurists who form the faculty, even as the lecture seeks to x-ray the waning confidence of the people in the judicial system and seek to return the Judiciary to its pristine past glory as the last hope of the common man.

The Annual Lecture will also provide a platform for networking among lawyers as delegates interact with other stakeholders in the legal profession who are making great strides in their space.

The Convener of the Annual Lecture, Mr. Gabriel Adikwu called on all lawyers to make plans to attend, adding that “This is one event you can’t afford to miss!” He also noted that registration is free but compulsory.
