The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, FCIArb (UK), has paid a moving tribute to the late Professor Alfred Bandele Kasunmu, SAN, describing him as a great teacher, distinguished lawyer and patriarch whose legacy will endure across generations of the Nigerian legal profession.

Badejo-Okusanya, who joined the family, colleagues and members of the Bar to bid the late legal icon farewell, recalled a personal connection with Professor Kasunmu, revealing that her first vacation job as a law student was in his chambers. She described him as belonging to a rare generation of lawyers who not only practised law but built institutions, shaped traditions and established standards for generations to come.

“We mourn a great lawyer. We honour an extraordinary teacher. We salute a distinguished Senior Advocate. And we bid farewell to a true elder of the Nigerian Bar,” the NBA President stated.
