The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) under the aegis of “NBA Body of Chairmen Rivers State” has commended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on the appointment of Hon. Christopher Green as the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice for the state.
In a statement obtained by CITY LAWYER and jointly signed by the nine branch chairmen, the Bar Leaders noted that the appointment was a fallout of their request to the Governor at the 2025/2026 Legal Year Opening Ceremony, adding that “we are pleased that His Excellency has heeded to our call.”
They commended Governor Fubara “for the timely and strategic appointment, which fills a critical gap in the State’s governance structure.”

Noting that the Ministry of Justice is pivotal in upholding the rule of law and ensuring the effective administration of criminal justice in the State, the Bar Leaders added that “This appointment is a clear indication of the Governor’s readiness to strengthening the Justice system in Rivers State.
“We congratulate Hon. Christopher Green on this well-deserved appointment, and we have no doubt that his expertise and experience as a Legal Practitioner and a seasoned administrator will be invaluable assets to the Ministry. We look forward to witnessing significant strides in Justice delivery and the advancement of the Rule of Law in Rivers State under his leadership.
“We assure the Honourable Attorney-General of the support and co-operation of the Nigerian Bar Association in Rivers State as we collaborate with his Office for the advancement of the Rule of Law in Rivers State.”
