NGIGE TO CHAIR LAW SCHOOL ALUMNI E-PORTAL LAUNCH

Leading litigator and Chairman of the Council of Legal Education (CLE), Chief Emeka Ngige SAN will hold court tomorrow as the 1989 Class of the Nigerian Law School launches its ground-breaking e-Learning/e-Mentoring/e-Continuing Legal Education (CLE) portal. The event is a part of the activities to mark the 30th anniversary reunion Dinner & Awards of the Nigerian Law School Alumni Class of 1989.

The launch will hold at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja and will feature an Anniversary Lecture titled “Legal Education in the 21st Century.” The keynote speaker is Professor Ezenwa Ngwakwe, a Professor of Law at Abia State University and a member of the Class.

The e-platform is aimed to support quality training and retraining of Nigerian Law School (NLS) students and especially young lawyers. According to Emeka Albert, Chairman of the NLS Class of 1989, the e-platform “is a first in Africa and will transform legal education and legal practice in Nigeria within a short period.”

This will be followed by a black-tie dinner and awards. Billed to hold on Saturday, 30th November, 2019 at the NAF Event Centre, Kado, Abuja the dinner will also witness the conferment of coveted awards on some alumni including the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo; Minister of State for Education, Mr. Emeka Nwajiuba as well as Justice Obande Ogbuinya, Justice Biobele Georgewill and Justice Bilkisu Aliyu, all of the Court of Appeal.

Others are Lagos State Attorney-General & Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN; Dr. Babatunde Ajibade SAN; Prof. Andrew Chukwuemerie SAN; renowned arbitrator Mrs. Dorothy Udeme Ufot SAN, and Rivers State Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zacchaeus Adongor.

Other activities billed to commemorate the 30th Anniversary include charity walk and prison visit. It was gathered that the high-profile commemoration will attract many of the class alumni from within and outside the country who are eager to reconnect with their mates after so many years.
