The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Remuneration Committee, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, has charged participants at the Law Students’ Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) North Central Convention in Abuja to uphold the rule of law and defend the supremacy of the Constitution.
In a keynote address, the former NBA General Secretary told the participants to reject mediocrity and embrace ethical leadership as the pathway to national transformation.
He stated that “The Republic We Deserve will never be built by wishful thinking, it will be forged by citizens whose integrity is stronger than their ambition, whose commitment to justice outweighs personal gain, and whose daily choices strengthen the institutions that safeguard democracy.”
Declaring that the future of Nigeria is already being shaped in today’s classrooms, he urged the next generation to build a republic where justice prevails, institutions outlive personalities, and public office remains an instrument of service rather than privilege.
