Bar Leader and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, joined hundreds of tax professionals and policy experts today for the 28th Annual Tax Conference organized by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
Participating virtually from Florida, United States, the senior lawyer expressed his commitment to the advancement of Nigeria’s fiscal landscape.
The conference was themed “Tax Reforms and Global Relevance: Positioning Nigeria’s Tax System for a Sustainable Future,” and serves as a critical platform for discussing the evolution of taxation in the wake of shifting global economic paradigms.
Gadzama, commenting on the event, emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and the intersection of law and taxation in building a resilient economy. Despite the distance, he lauded the organizers for providing a seamless virtual experience that allows for global participation.
“I am happy to join the 2026 CITN Tax Conference virtually from Florida. It is a pity that I am not in Nigeria to attend physically, which I would have loved to. I am enjoying it tremendously as I am being educated and enlightened on many topical tax issues,” Gadzama noted.
As a member of CITN, Gadzama’s participation highlights the synergy between the legal and tax professions.
The conference, currently holding at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, features a robust lineup of resource persons. Discussions are centered on domestic tax reforms and how Nigeria can better align its fiscal policies with international best practices to ensure long-term economic stability.
A statement made available to CITY LAWYER noted that “Gadzama remains a vocal advocate for professional excellence and continues to lead the legal community toward a future of inclusive and progressive legal practice.”
