The 2027 African Action Congress Presidential candidate, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has made mockery of former Rivers State governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, as flood sacked the venue of the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt.
Sowore, in a post on his X handle on Saturday, took a jibe at Amaechi following the emergence of a video from the flooded venue of the NBA conference.
As seen in the video, the exit point of the conference was heavily flooded, forcing several lawyers to wade through the flood barefooted, with their shoes in their hands and trousers rolled up.
Some of the lawyers who could not pass through the flood hired the service of agents who offered carry them on their back across the flood for a token ranging from N3,000 to N5,000.
Other legal practitioners who could pay the fee dived through the water themselves with some buying slippers from itinerant conference vendors.
Commenting on the post, Sowore recalled Amaechi bragging about his achievements during their panel discussion at the conference.
His words: “When @ChibuikeAmaechi stood at the @NigBarAssoc Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt boasting,
“Take Sowore around Rivers State, I built this road, I built that road, I built this school, I built that school,” he may have forgotten to look around him.”
Sowore questioned the transformation claims of the running mate to the 2027 African Democratic Congress Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, pointing at the condition of the venue.
He said: “This was the venue of the very NBA conference where he made those boasts. Look around Port Harcourt.
“Look at the roads. Look at the infrastructure. Look at the condition of a state they governed and claimed to have transformed. This is the Rivers State they built.”
