Former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) General Secretary, Chief Phillip Ndubuisi Umeh has added his voice to that of key stakeholders who have endorsed Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN to become the next NBA president.

In a statement made available to CITY LAWYER, the former NBA chieftain noted that Okafor’s manifesto is not only “more reliable and realistic,” but that the famous litigator ” is widely accepted by all shades of lawyers in the country.”

The statement reads:

AOOSAN – THE BEST

We are aware that members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) will be going to the polls again with respect to the election of their new National Executives on the 19th and 20th day of August, 2018 respectively.

As a stakeholder and former National General Secretary of the NBA (2000-2002) I have keenly watched events and the several contestants for the position of President of the NBA in the said elections (which have been postponed on few occasions due to issues with the verification exercise) which were resolved on the 8th August, 2018.

I have taken time to study the Manifestoes of the three contestants for the office of the President of the NBA and found the contents of the Manifesto of Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN more reliable and realistic.

I have also had personal interactions with Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN on the workability of his Manifesto and I am more convinced about his genuine intention to be the President of the NBA.

I did not stop at the interactions with Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN, but also discovered from my personal observations and investigations of lawyers in Lagos and elsewhere that Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN is widely accepted by all shades of lawyers in the country.

Sequel to the foregoing, I, Chief Philip Ndubuisi Umeh (former National General Secretary, 2000-2002) hereby endorse the candidacy of Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN for the office of the NBA President (2018-2020)

I therefore recommend Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN to all lawyers in Nigeria as the next President of the NBA
