NBA LAGOS CHAIR: ABIYE TAM-GEORGE ROLLS OUT PROFILE

In perhaps the clearest move that indicates her firm resolve to clinch the coveted post of Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, former Vice Chairman of the branch, Mrs. Abiye Tam-George has released her professional profile.

Reeling out some positions held in what some NBA watchers adjudged as an “intimidating” resume, the profile reads: “Abiye is the Vice President of the Association of Environmental Lawyers of Nigeria and the former Vice-Chair of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch. She serves as the former Chair of the Human Rights Committee, NBA Lagos Branch, and the Child Rights Committee of the African Bar Association. Previously, she was the Chair of the Welfare Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch, and the Project Committee of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, Lagos.

PROFILE OF ABIYE TAM-GEORGE

Abiye Tam-George is the visionary-in-chief of ATG LEGAL, a cosmopolitan law firm with consults legal practitioners, mediators, and Arbitrators.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and has expertise in Leadership and Organizational Development, Technology and Operations Management, Marketing Strategy, Financial Decision-Making, Intrapreneurship and Innovation, Organizational Strategy, Cybersecurity Leadership, and Data Science for Decision-Making. Abiye has successfully organized and led various seminars and workshops focused on educational advancement. Additionally, she is certified in Restorative Justice Practices.

Abiye is listed as a Regional Attorney-Mediator with the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) for the International Financial Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) of the World Bank Group.

Her legal expertise for close to two decades accounts for her disposition in different aspects of law; particularly in criminal and civil litigation, corporate transactions, sports, and rights violations.

She is also a certified Mediator at the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC) and a member of the distinguished panel of Neutrals at LMDC and ADR Point ODR/Europe certified. Abiye holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and is recognized as an astute mediation advocate and motivational speaker.

Her acclaimed community legal literacy project, Live.Better.Everyday, offers free legal advice and counseling on various legal issues in communities and partners in different locations. This digital program is designed to provide sound, accessible, and engaging legal advice and opinions to individuals, institutions, and governments.
