ANAMBRA SECURITY SQUAD ARRESTS POPULAR NATIVE DOCTOR, AKWA OKUKU (VIDEO)
- ANAMBRA DEPUTY GOVERNOR GRILLS HIM
In line with its ongoing campaigns at smoking out criminals and those engaged in suspicious activities, Anambra vigilante security network, Agunaechemba, has arrested controversial native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, commonly known as Akwa Okuku.
It was gathered that he was picked up on allegations of preparing charms (okeite) for kidnappers masquerading as ‘yahoo boys’ and terrorising Anambra State.
Akwa Okuku, fully pronounced as Akwa Okuku tiwara aki (an egg that breaks the coconut), because of his perceived invincibility, is based in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
A video of Akwa Okuku being interrogated by Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim has now gone viral.
His followers claim that he is known for his work in business progress, favour, security, worldly purification, visa approval, marital issues, and many more.
Social media patrons associate him with regular flaunting of luxurious outfits such as hotel and exotic cars. Last year, reports were rife of his alleged abduction by unknown gunmen, an incident critics insisted was orchestrated by him.
His arrest comes on the heels of reported similar breakthrough by Agunechemba operatives on Thursday, in Owele-Ezukala, Orumba South Local Government Area of the state in which nine individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping and ritual killings were nabbed during a joint operation by the security squad and local vigilantes.
The special operation, which was launched on January 18, 2025, at the International Convention Centre, Awka, has reportedly kept suspected criminal elements on run.
THE NICHE reports that its mandate, according to the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, rests on “a robust security system with zero tolerance to criminality,” and will act as bulwark against “lucrative criminality adorned with deceptive ideology and propaganda.”
