Lagos Women Affairs Ministry involves FIDA Nigeria, Ikeja, and other NGOs, in capacity building
The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in its continuous resolve to alleviate poverty, held a capacity building session for women-focused NGOs on the topic: “Writing of Proposal For Grants-in-Aid: What Every Women-Focused NGO Should Know”.
Many NGOs in Lagos State were represented. FIDA Nigeria, Ikeja, was represented by its Chairperson, Mrs. Veronica Nnennaya Eze.
The Ministry organised the one-day capacity training last Thursday, 1st December, at the Women Development Centre, Pen Cinema, Agege, for women-focused NGOs, and the attendance was massive.
The Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oluyemi Kalesanwo, re-stated His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s, resolve to alleviate poverty for the citizenry in Lagos State. As a result, the training became inevitable to equip women-focused NGOs with the requisite knowledge on writing proposals for grants and the key elements of success.
Mrs. Dada further urged women- focused NGOs to master grant writing so as to secure funding for impactful programs that would benefit the citizenry.
