The Nigerian Law School Class of 1989 will this week roll out the red carpet to honour three of its distinguished members.

Scheduled to hold in the highbrow Maitama area of Abuja, the honorees are Justice Obande Ogbuinya of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, and foremost law reform advocate, Dr. Babatunde Ajibade SAN.

Tagged “A Night to Celebrate Excellence!” the ceremony is scheduled to hold on 20th December, 2024 at Abuja.

A statement made available to CITY LAWYER by the Chairman of the Class, Mr. Emeka Albert, reads: “This year, our class has soared to incredible heights, and it’s time to come together to celebrate some huge wins! We are excited to announce a Special Alumni Dinner in honour of three exceptional classmates whose achievements have made us all proud.

“This dinner isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of our shared legacy of excellence and the inspiration we draw from one another.”

On why members must not miss the event, Albert said: “This is more than a dinner; it’s a moment to reconnect and honour the spirit of achievement that unites us as a class. Let’s toast to the incredible achievements of these distinguished colleagues, share fond memories, and recharge for the future ahead.”

Emphasizing the importance of the special dinner, the senior lawyer said: “Despite the short notice arising from the very busy schedules of the honorees, this promises to be an unforgettable evening of fun, inspiration and celebration. Come ready to ease off and enjoy camaraderie in style. In lifting one another, we rise!”

He commended the “amazing” members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) who “worked tirelessly to plan this event.”

Members of the Local Organising Committee include Messrs Emeka Etiaba SAN (Chairman), A. U. Mustapha SAN, Kamaldeen Ajibade SAN, Obinna Ajoku SAN, Reuben Atabo SAN, Paul Harris Ogbole SAN, and Emma Enoidem SAN.

Others are Messrs Emma Esene SAN, Emmanuel Oluwabiyi, Dele Oye, Moses Adaguusu, Elizabeth Max-Uba Esq., and Dr. Okey Akobundu.
