NBA PORT HARCOURT ELECTION: ‘WHY WE MUST ELECT CORDELIA EKE’ – GODSWILL OKURU

WHY WE MUST VOTE CORDELIA UWUMA EKE, ESQ: A PERSONAL EPISTLE

In 2022, while serving as a Corps member with the Ministry of Justice, Bauchi State, my direct mentor M. M. Adamu, Esq mentioned that as I go back to Rivers State, there is an amazing lady he knows from there he would love to connect me to. He proceeded to call this lady and then dropped her number with me to call.

I called when I returned to Port Harcourt; I also informed her. That ‘amazing lady’ he referred to is the delectable and eloquent Cordelia Uwuma Eke (CUE), Esq.

Our first physical meeting at her home was a blend of serenity and order, love and genuine bond. Her words were indelible in my heart and her stories were relatable. When I was in-between jobs, the same CUE made good efforts even without me having to call multiple times and still called in-between to check up on this young lawyer. If this isn’t intentional mentorship, I wonder what else is!

Fast forward to present day. As we approach the forthcoming election, it has become imperative for me to share this food for thought, why we as members of NBA PH Branch must vote her to the office of Chairman of the branch.

If at all we decide not to vote for her, the reasons may include but not limited to:

1. If the Branch wants to gloat in disorder, then let us not vote CUE.

2. If the Branch wants young lawyers to continue to be like sheep without shepherd, then by all means we must avoid voting CUE.

3. If we don’t mind flagrant lack of transparency, please, please, please, let us NOT vote CUE.

4. If we want Port Harcourt, the mother branch, to remain within limits and without pushing new frontiers and reaching our horizon, then when you see CUE, avoid that name and vote someone else.

5. If we would take the chance of missing out on a firm, decisive and forthright leader who is audacious with maximum composure and ‘steeze ‘, then don’t vote CUE; quote me as having said so.

6. Lastly, if we don’t want NBA PH to become all that it has the potential to be, then this is a strong reason not to vote Mrs. Cordelia Uwuma Eke.

Love and light!
