NBA PORT HARCOURT UNVEILS TECHNICAL SESSIONS FOR LAW WEEK
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Port Harcourt Branch has unveiled a repertoire of technical sessions for its eagerly awaited 2024 Annual Law Week and Dinner holding from 2nd December to 6th December, 2024.
The highlight of the intellectual fiesta is the theme of the Annual Law Week titled “Rule of Law and Socio-Economic Stability: Impact on the Legal Profession.”
While Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili, retired justice of the Supreme Court, is Chairman of the Opening Ceremony slated for December 3, 2024, leading corporate lawyer, Mr. George Etomi is the Keynote Speaker. Etomi is billed to tackle the theme of the Law Week which is expected to elicit interventions from the elite cast of discussants.
Day 3 (December 4, 2024) of the Law Week will witness a Mentorship Seminar for young lawyers featuring a select panel of the youngest Senior Advocates of Nigeria. The session has the sub-theme, “Mentorship: Attaining excellence in the legal profession.” It promises to especially excite young lawyers who are registered to attend the conference, as it will deal with the challenges they encounter in their bid to build a successful career in the legal profession.
Day 4 (December 5, 2024) will also feature another technical session with a stellar cast of speakers led by respected senior lawyer, Mrs. Miannaya Essien SAN. The topic of the session is “Career and Law Practice Development.” The session aims to address ways of building a viable law practice, futuristic legal practice, and stress management among others.
Meanwhile, registration has commenced for the eagerly awaited technical or Continuing Legal Education (CLE) sessions which have a plethora of industry-specific topics lined up to address challenges being faced by lawyers in their day-to-day practice.
