Nigerian Law Society (NLS) congratulates Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, NBA President-elect and other elected Executive Members of the NBA
The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has extended its profound congratulations to the NBA and President-elect Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN and other elected Executive Members of the NBA.
In a letter signed by the Executive Director of the NLS, Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja, which was delivered to the NBA Headquarters on Monday, 22nd July, 2024, the NLS felicitated with the NBA on concluding it’s National Elections.
The letter also congratulated the President-elect of the NBA, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN and all the persons elected to the various offices of the National Executive Committee of the NBA, stating their respective names and would-be portfolios.
Nigerian Law Society (NLS) announces new National Officers, Plans for National Elections in the year 2025
The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has announced the appointment of National Officers for the Society. Recall that the Protem National Leaders of the NLS led by Chief Kunle Ogunba, SAN were inaugurated to hold office for a year. Their term was extended over the years but comes to an end on 31st July, 2024.
Considering the expiration of the Protem Executives, the Board of Trustees of the NLS has now swooped in to appoint Interim National Officers for the Society, to hold office from August, 2024 to July, 2025.
In a Press Release statement signed by the Executive Director of the NLS, Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the NLS, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, OFR, SAN communicated the appointment of the following persons to form the National Executive Committee of the NLS and pilot its affairs for the next one year. The new National Leaders are –
- President – Chief Mela Audu Nunghe, SAN, Honorary Bencher
- Vice President South – Hon. Nimi Walson-Jack
- Vice President North- Mallam Abdulqadir Alhaji Sani
- General Secretary – Mr. Steve Abar
- Assistant Gen. Secretary – Madam Alice Ogaku Awonugba
- Financial Secretary – Madam Zara Umar Yakub
- Treasurer – Madam Chioma Ferguson
- Publicity Secretary – Mr. Stephen Uchenna Nwankwo (Steve Sun); and
- Welfare Secretary – Mr. Oluniyi Adediji
According to the Press Release, the Interim National Officers are expected to organise both the Society’s Annual General Conference for 2025 and National Elections.
