In a move that demonstrates their continued faith in the Annual International Business Law Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), over 50 corporate sponsors have thrown their weight behind the 16th conference coming up in Abuja in July.

The sponsors include Corporate Affairs Commission, Aluko & Oyebode, Flutterwave, Banwo & Ighodalo, Africa Finance Corporation, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and many others.

The 16th NBA-SBL Annual International Business Law Conference is billed to hold from Wednesday, 20th to Friday, 22nd July, 2022 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. Themed “Recent Developments in the Business Law Environment”, the conference will seek to dissect some recent developments in the business law environment, how they have affected businesses, and chart the way forward to give businesses a boost.

A full sponsors list made available by the NBA-SBL 2022 Conference Planning Committee (CPC) shows that the sponsors are grouped into Headline Sponsors, Platinum Sponsors, Gold Sponsors, Silver Sponsors, and Bronze Sponsors. The CPC said the sponsorships cover most of the programmes at the two-day conference, including the plenary sessions, tea breaks, lunch breaks, among others.

Many of the sponsors are returning sponsors, while there are a few who are making the sponsors list for the first time, said Theodora Kio-Lawson, Chair, Media, Publicity and Mobilisation Subcommittee of the CPC.

According to the list, the Headline Sponsors are Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie, Corporate Affairs Commission, Flutterwave, Aluko & Oyebode, Banwo & Ighodalo, Aelex, Templars, Babalakin & Co, George Etomi & Partners, IHS Towers, and White & Case, NIGERIAN UPSTREAM PETROLEUM REGULATORY COMMISSION (NUPRC), SHELL PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY.

Streamsowers & Kohn, The Law Crest LLP, Mixta Real Estate, Olajide Oyewole LLP, Greychapel Legal, Tayo Oyetibo & Co, Famsvile Solicitors, and Unilever Plc are on the Silver Sponsors list.

The Bronze Sponsors are Nigeria Communications Commission, Y. Kio-Lawson said the fact that these sponsors continue to back the NBA-SBL Annual Business Law Conference every year is a testimony that the conference has lived up to its bidding.

“Every year the conference provides a platform for stakeholders in the Nigerian business environment to address the issues that affect the business environment, businesses operating in the environment, and suggest the way forward,” she said.
