GOODWILL MESSAGE TO MUSLIM LAWYERS’ ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MULAN) ON THE OCCASION OF THE EXPANDED NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING (NEC) HOLDING IN ABUJA ON 3rd Dhul Hijjah 1443H /2nd July, 2022

I felicitate with the President and Members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) on the occasion of her expanded NEC Meeting with the theme: “MULAN : Between Professional Challenges and Societal Expectations”

There is no doubt that our country is facing one of its most challenging times, on the eve of her General Elections. Therefore, the reason and circumstances for selecting the theme for this particular MULAN NEC Meeting shows a bold initiative aimed at understanding, discussing and proposing workable solutions to the myriad of challenges bedevelling not only the legal profession but the nation at as a whole.

This intervention is a significant contribution to nation building and a demonstration that the solution to our challenges lies in constant engagements and not the resort to violence. After all it is only realistic that we try to understand the diversity of the nation because the absence of such an understanding has been the bane of our nation.

I challenge this NEC to engage in bold and frank discussions and come up with recommendations that will form the basis for the elusive, but much sought after solutions to our perennial problems.
