Sabastine Anyia hails from Wula town, Boki LGA of Cross River State. He is the 3rd child of his parents, Mr. Matthew Akabor Anyia and Mrs. Veronica Aluo Anyia, who where teachers by profession.

He attended St John’s Primary School Wula, John Paul De II Junior Seminary Ogoja and Buentsebe secondary school Wula. He finished his secondary school education in 1992, he was offered admission to the University of Calabar in 1993 to read political science but he turned it down, as his dream was nothing but to study law. He got admission to read law in University of Maiduguri 1995/96 academic year, graduated 2001 went to Nigerian law school, Abuja 2002/03.

He did his NYSC in Anambra state, with Amazing Grace Chambers and was retained thereafter. He got his Master of Laws in 2011 with Nnamdi Azikiwe University, AWKA. After 5 years of tutolish with Sir H.A. Ejim, his principal; he then opened his own office S. U. Anyia and CO.

He has served Nigerian Bar Association, Aguata branch in various capacities: He was elected Public Relation Officer (PRO) Aguata branch, Young lawyer’s chairman, Financial Secretary of the Branch, Welfare Secretary of the Branch, Secretary General of the Branch and Chairman of the Branch. He has also served as the chairman of the 8 branches of the Nigerian Bar Association Anambra State.

During his tenure as NBA Chairman of Aguata branch he built a bar centre for the branch and gave it taste of the art furnishing. He also built other structures to generate income for the branch, he launched the maiden bar journal for the branch, he eradicated fake lawyers from the branch, he arrested and prosecuted people using NBA stickers who are not lawyers in there vehicles.

As Chairman of Chairmen in Anambra state, he introduced football competition among the 8 branches to foster love and unity. He believes in justice and fair play. He is an apostle of an egalitarian society.
The immediate past governor of Cross River State professor Ben Ayade appointed him special adviser on legal matters, but he respectfully declined the appointment because the environment was not conducive for him to give out his best, there is no point accepting an office because of money without the enabling ambiance to give your best.

Every office he has ever occupied, he always introduced positive changes, he is a man with lots of ideas. Sabastine believes in being accountable to the people he’s elected to serve. He See’s every office entrusted to him as an opportunity to serve the people, it is on this note that he has received the following awards:

6. “Award of Patron” by National Association of Boki Students, world wide, 27th day of December, 2021.

7. “Pillar of Wula Students”, by Wula Students, world wide, 29th December 2022.
