Mr. Lamar Joe-Kyari Gadzama, an amateur golfer, has emerged as the 2023 champion of the IBB Golf Club, defeating Mr. Isaiah Okonofua on hole 17 in a tough match-play final.

The younger Gadzama, who plays off handicap 13.3, won all seven of his matches in the knockout-style competition and will now hold the title of Club Champion for one year.

In recognition of his achievement, Gadzama was awarded a trophy at the Captains Cup Dinner Reception held on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Gadzama has also been allotted a parking space and his name will be written on the board at the club.

The IBB Golf Club Singles Matchplay event is known for being a challenging and exciting competition, pitting golfers against each other in a knockout-style format. Gadzama’s impressive performance throughout the tournament and his hard-fought victory in the final have earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow golfers.

Gadzama has expressed his gratitude for the support he received from his family and friends during the tournament, as he looks forward to defending his title as Club Champion in the year ahead.

Gadzama comes from a family of accomplished golfers. His father, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN, is a former captain of the IBB International Golf Club and a past winner of the IBB Golf Club Singles Matchplay event. Lamar’s uncle, Mr. Paul Kyari Lassa, is also the immediate past Club Champion.
