OBIAGWU: ‘WE SHALL TAKE STEPS TO CLEAR HIS NAME,’ SAYS LAW FIRM

IN RE: CHINO OBIAGWU SAN – SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT

Our attention has been drawn to an online publication where our Principal Partner, Mr. Chinonye Obiagwu SAN was maliciously portrayed as having deployed extra-judicial measures in a recovery of premises matter.

We state unequivocally that the publication is false and misleading in its entirety. For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did our Principal Partner engage in any illegal or arbitrary measures concerning the matter in issue.

If the purveyors of that jaundiced and highly slanted report had, in the best traditions of journalism and law, bothered to reach out to the renowned Learned Silk and foremost human rights advocate, they would have realized that there is no iota of truth in the fabled report.

It is unthinkable that a pre-eminent human rights activist who has all his life fought to uphold human rights will do anything that is contrary to the rule of law.

For the avoidance of doubt, the premises in question had been vacated by the tenants who had surrendered possession since 2022. These vacant flats were however broken into and occupied by squatters, thereby posing a danger to the entire community and compelling our law firm to take legal steps to recover the premises.

We have it on excellent authority that the purveyor of this blatant falsehood was actively procured by a senior lawyer to malign our esteemed Principal Partner.

While we shall take appropriate steps within the ambit of the law to seek redress for the malicious and orchestrated impugning of the character of our Principal Partner, we urge discerning members of the public to disregard the report as a poorly orchestrated hatchet job.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
PP: Obiagwu & Obiagwu
