SHETTIMA CHAIRS, AS MALAMI UNVEILS AUTOBIOGRAPHY TODAY

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN, CON) will today unveil his autobiography titled “My Travails and Triumphs: Traversing the Thorny Terrain of Nigeria’s Justice Sector.”

According to information made available to CITY LAWYER, the official launch of the book is holding about now at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Kado, Abuja.

The Chairman of the occasion is Vice President-Elect and former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima while the Chief Host is Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu.

Organized by The Book Project Planning Committee, the Royal Father of the Day is the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of the Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar (CFR).

The book has a foreword written by Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo GCON. Malami also holds the traditional title of “Kuliyan Gwandu, Dokajin Yauri.”

According to a profile sighted by CITY LAWYER, Malami “was born on the 29th of Zul Hijja 1386 (Monday, 10th April, 1967 at Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State. He was born into the respectable and learned family of Khadi Malami and Hajiya Halima. His father was a renowned judge of the Sharia Court of Appeal who presided over numerous important matters on Islamic law.

“At a very early age, his parents ensured that he was raised as a disciplined kid. They inculcated in him the tenets of the Islamic faith, knowledge of the Quran and the Arabic language. These early pivots were to later become strong beacons of guidance in his life.”

It also notes that “As a very distinguished legal practitioner, Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN is the recipient of various prestigious awards and fellowships. He is a recipient of the award of Excellency by Democratic Youth Association of Nigeria. He was selected as the Kebbi Chapter ASUP Lawyer of the Year by Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Kano State Chapter. He was also given the award of Integrity by the Guardian Newspapers. This is in addition to receiving the award of Appreciation and Commendation by the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2012.”
