SAFIYA BALARABE HAILS CLASFON ON JUDICIARY SUMMIT

SAFIYA BALARABE LAUDS CLASFON ON A TWO-DAY JUDICIARY STAKEHOLDERS SUMMIT 2022

Safiya Balarabe has extolled the Christian Lawyers Fellowship Of Nigeria (“CLASFON”) who in partnership with the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory organized a two-day Judiciary Stakeholders Summit themed: “Promoting and Strengthening of the Nigerian Judiciary”.

According to her, “The Christian Lawyers Fellowship Of Nigeria has yet again demonstrated its profound resolve to always be in the forefront of nation building. This time around they have partnered the FCT High Court in organizing a two-day Judiciary Stakeholders Summit tagged: ‘Promoting and Strengthening of the Nigerian Judiciary’.

“This program projects an undeniable abundance of capacity from CLASFON, transcending their primary role of spiritual guidance for Christian Lawyers to temporal concerns bordering on the betterment of the nation which in itself is an offshoot of multiple biblical injunctions.

“It resides within the realms of my deepest desire that this program will once again send rejuvenating shock waves to the lagging heart of our nation’s judiciary.

“Thank you CLASFON.”

SAFIYA BALARABE, NBA WOMEN FORUM TREASURER, HAILS MUSLIMS ON EID

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Women Forum Treasurer, Safiya Balarabe has urged Muslims to “hold fast” to the tenets of the Ramadan month.

Said Balarabe: “My fellow Muslim brethren, As-salaam alaikum.

“We are witnessing yet another celebration of our Islam faith, having undergone a rigorous 30-day period of communion with Almighty Allah, wherein we fasted and prayed in deep retrospect of our lives.

“Today as we celebrate the breaking of the fast, thanking Almighty Allah for sustaining us throughout the period, we should by every means hold fast the core tenets of the Ramadan period as entrenched in the teachings of the Holy Quran and championed by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is necessary especially as our dear nation is faced with myriads of social, moral and economic problems. We as Muslims must indeed be the shining light and herald a positive turnaround for our dear nation.

“I wish us all Eid Mubarak. May Almighty Allah continue to bless and protect us all the days of our lives, Ameen.”

TAIDI HAILS NBA-SLP OVER ANNUAL CONFAB

Bencher and former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) General Secretary, Mr. Jonathan Taidi has felicitated with the NBA Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP) over its recent Annual Conference held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

In a statement made available to CITY LAWYER, Taidi stated that the conference “could’nt have come at a better time given the challenges bedevilling the legal profession,” adding that “the speakers and panelists illuminated the pathway to give us a clear view of the future of the legal profession.”

Below is the full text of the statement.

I heartily congratulate the Chairman, Governing Council and Members of the NBA-SLP for a successful 2021 Annual Conference.

The conversation on “Law, Lawyers and the Next Generation” could’nt have come at a better time given the challenges bedevelling the legal profession occasioned by the extraordinary circumstances we live in.

As expected, the speakers and panelists illuminated the pathway to give us a clear view of the future of the legal profession.

It is my hope that the outcome of the deliberations at the Annual Conference will help fashion out policies that energize the practice of law in this country.

Congratulations again, as I wish all attendees and participants journey mercies.

Jonathan Gunu Taidi
Past General Secretary, NBA & Bencher
