FUNMI ADEOGUN ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THREE SERVANTS (Part 22)

ADEOGUN, FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT TITLED: THREE SERVANTS ( Part 22)

Remember the lesson in part 21 is THE THREE SERVANTS are only stewards of the master’s investment

The THREE SERVANTS give account of their stewardship which is financial reporting.

They report the financial position and result of the investment to the Master so that He can analyze about the safety and security of the investment they made and it is a very important and critical task for the Master as a single mistake in presentation may lead to loss of investment by the Master. There is nothing of which you can say, “Well, it doesn’t really matter.” There is no talent you possess, no time that you have, no possession that you have which is something that you may squander. You should not slouch or slack.

You may have thought that it does not matter what you do with those talents of mind, time, money, children, etc.
After reading this article know that it matters a lot.

Lesson: The person you want to commit your Treasury must know how to give Financial Report

ADEOGUN, FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 19)

Remember the lesson in part 18 is Carry out background check on the person you want to Entrust with your Money.

Be Clear with Expectations

Anytime you are working with someone on business or a financial transaction, be clear with what is expected of each party. If the third servant had asked more questions about what was expected of him, he might have been better off. If you’re not clear or you think another party is not clear, talk it over until clarity is achieved. Doing the work up front is better for everyone.

Lesson: Be clear with expectations

FUNMI ADEOGUN ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 18)

ADEOGUN, FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 18)

Remember the lesson in part 17 is: Evaluate each of the SERVANTS according to his ability and capacity before committing your Treasury in his hands.

Also, carefully Evaluate Someone You Entrust with your Money

Trust is important when it comes to finance. If you’re thinking about entrusting money to someone else, make time to check the company or individual out. This could be looking around online or asking around. Another good question is to ask how someone is paid or if they are a fiduciary.

Lesson: Carry out background check on the person you want to Entrust with your Money

FUNMI ADEOGUN ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (PT. 15)

ADEOGUN, FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 15)

Remember the lesson in part 14 is Master needs DEMONSTRATED ABILITY AND CAPACITY. Do have the required experience?

The master in the parable of ‘THE THREE SERVANTS’ also gives us insight into the the second parameter used in allocating capital:

Now, let’s look at the issue of profit. The servants that were commended in the parable were those who made maximum profit on their enterprise. As it is written, “The first servant went to work and doubled his master’s investment.” And his master commended him. Ditto the second. We can reasonably conclude that 100% return on investment is permissible. Stop feeling guilty about making profit on your TREASURY.

In actual fact the man God had a problem with was the one who made no profit. You’re not running a business if you’re not profit-oriented.

Your aim should be to double the investment of your Master. That’s how to impress your master in business. Profit motive is critical in business.

Lesson: YOU MUST DOUBLE THE TREASURY FOR THE MASTER TO BE HAPPY WITH YOU

FUNMI ADEOGUN ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 14)

ADEOGUN, FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 14)

Remember the lesson in part 13 is, ‘If you don’t develop your potential in business management no master will allocate TREASURE to you.’

The master in the parable of ‘THE THREE SERVANTS’ also gives us insight into the second parameter used in allocating capital:

The second basis for allocation of capital is DEMONSTRATED ability. It is why capital was re-allocated from the man who made no use of his capital, and transferred to the man who made use of his capital. Demonstrated ability. This is why some people can’t understand why God keeps blessing the business of someone they consider “unspiritual.” It is capacity God is looking at. And that’s not saying we should be carnal. I’m just explaining a phenomenon. It’s important you understand how God reasons when it comes to business. He’s pretty serious about economic resources.

Lesson: Master needs DEMONSTRATED ABILITY AND CAPACITY. Do have the required experience?

FUNMI ADEOGUN’S FINANCIAL INVESTMENT NUGGETS: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 6)

ADEOGUN FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT TITLED THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 6)

Remember the lesson in part 5 is that some positions require more skill or ability.

The three servants can be understood in today’s context as investment managers. Two of the stewards industriously apply the principles and invest their talents. Through successful investing and trading skills, they multiply the talents and earn a 100% return over a long-time horizon. The best-performing steward increases his initial investment from e.g. $25,600,000 to $56,320,000 of assets under management. The increase is from $25,600,000 in capital appreciation and $5,120,000 in additional deposits taken from the unproductive servant and reallocated by the master.

Faithfully using your given abilities and the inherent power and influence from wealth “dynamis” will be rewarded with additional opportunities for stewardship. To everyone who has investing and trading skills, will more be given. The master is not miserly economically.

Lesson: To everyone who has investing and trading skills, will more be given.

FEATURED

ADEOGUN FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: THE THREE SERVANTS (Part 5)

Remember the lesson in part 4 is that ‘People are not endowed with identical or necessarily equal gifts.’

At the same time, the talent was taken from the third servant being given to the one with ten talents. Equal worth does not necessarily mean equal compensation.

Some positions require more skill or ability and thus are compensated accordingly. The two servants who did well are rewarded in different amounts. But they are both praised identically. The implication of the is that we are to use whatever talents we’ve been given to the best of our ability and when we have done that, we are on an equal playing field with other faithful, trustworthy servants.

Lesson: Some positions require more skill  or ability.

Remember the lesson in part 3 is that * master is interested in making wise investments of his money to obtain profit*

More pointedly for the workplace, it commends putting capital at risk in pursuit of earning a return. Sometimes we speak as if growth, productivity, and return on investment were not godly.
We should invest our skills and abilities, but also our wealth and the resources made available to us at work, home, associations all for the betterment of humanity.
This includes the production of needed goods and services. The volunteers who put themselves forward to serve humanity.

People are not endowed with identical or necessarily equal gifts.

If you do as well as you can with the gifts given to you by God, you will hear his “Well done.” Not only the gifts, but also the people have equal worth.

Lesson: People are not endowed with identical or necessarily equal gifts.

FUNMI ADEOGUN ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: ‘THE THREE SERVANTS’ – PART 3

FEATURED

ADEOGUN FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT TITLED ‘THE THREE SERVANTS’ (Part 3)

Remember the lesson in part 2 is that you should not give your talent to someone that will do nothing with it.

The severe consequences to the unproductive servant, far beyond anything triggered by mere business mediocrity, tell us that we are to invest our talents and, not waste them.

The particular talent invested in the parable is money.
It depicts investing, not hoarding, as a godly thing to do if it accomplishes godly purposes in a godly manner.
In the end, the master praises the two trustworthy servants with the words, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave”
In these words, we see that the master cares about the results (“well done”), the methods (“good”), and the motivation (“trustworthy”).

He assesses the stewardship of his servants. He evaluates them according to how faithful each was in making wise investments of his money to obtain profit.

Lesson: master is interested in making wise investments of his money to obtain profit.

FUNMI ADEOGUN ON ‘THE THREE SERVANTS’ – PART 2

FEATURED

ADEOGUN FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT TITLED ‘THE THREE SERVANTS’ (Part 2)
Like the three servants, we do not have gifts of the same degree, the reason different talents were given to them. Remember in Part 1,

A servant received 5 talents
The 2nd servant received 2 talents
The 3rd servant received 1 talent

The gifts we have include skills, abilities, family connections, social positions, education, experiences, and more. The point of the parable is that we are to use whatever we have been given to serve humanity.

The return expected of us is commensurate with the gifts we have been given. The servant who received one talent was not condemned for failing to reach the five-talent goal; he was condemned because he did nothing with what he was given.

Lesson: Don’t give your talent to someone that will do nothing with it.

FUNMI ADEOGUN EXPOUNDS FINANCIAL INVESTMENT

FEATURED

ADEOGUN, FUNMILOLA OLUWATOSIN LECTURES ON FINANCIAL INVESTMENT

THE THREE SERVANTS ( Part 1)

According to her:
THREE SERVANTS WERE INVOLVED

A rich man delegates the management of his wealth to his servants, much as investors in today’s markets do.
He gives talents (a large unit of money) to the SERVANTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. FIVE [5] talents to the first. servant,
2. TWO [2] talents to the second servant and
3. ONE[1] talent to the third.

Two of the servants earn 100 percent returns by trading with the funds, but the third servant hides the money in the ground and earns nothing. The rich man returns, rewards the two who made money, but severely punishes the servant who did nothing.

The meaning of the parable in financial investments is that God has given each person a wide variety of gifts, and he expects us to employ those gifts in service of humanity. It is not acceptable merely to put those gifts on a closet shelf and ignore them.
